Gift-Giving Time!

Events often mean finding that special gift for your attendees - or for your sponsors, or even your staff and volunteers. And outside of your events, you often want to thank your suppliers, clients, vendors, speakers - perhaps anyone who contributed to the success of your event, or that you hope to work with again and want them to remember you fondly!

And of course, now that the holiday season is upon us, it's a great time to find that perfect gift to express your gratitude for a job well done.

This week, guest contributor, Samantha Worrell of The Gift Tailor, gives some of her suggestions for finding that perfectly unique and personalized gift - particularly during this season!

3 Ways to Wow this Christmas

Too busy working on your clients’ events to tackle your own Holiday tasks? Find relief from holiday gifting stress with these ideas.

1. I wish it could be Christmas every day

Well not quite everyday but you can get the gift opening started on December 1st with a daily countdown with an advent calendar. Ranging from candy for the kiddos to chocolate for the adult sweet tooth, to cosmetics and fragrances from well-known stores.

2. Bespoke bubbly

Some champagne houses are offering personalization of bottles of bubbly which makes for a good gifting bridge between Christmas and New Years Eve. Our favorite of the options out there is the Veuve Cliquot offering at Selfridges. Your bottle comes in a distinctive veuve-yellow tin which is what actually gets personalized.

You can have your home town etched into the tin with the distance to Reims, the home of Veuve Cliquot … or any other message.

If you’re in the UK, this personalization can be done in store in 15 minutes. Selfridges also take online orders and ship this gift internationally.

3. When Cash is King it needs a courtier

Don’t be mistaken, we love cash and its equivalents, but some consider it to be a sign of not putting the extra thought in. Tip: we think that the closer the person is to you and the better you know the person, better to lean more towards putting the thought into a gift and less toward a gift card or money. If you are giving a gift card, remember there is still something people love about being tactile and unwrapping when it comes to gifts so consider a small token alongside, such as a small box of candies or a gift card tin rather than just putting it in an envelope.

If you decide you’re going to take the gift card route for a service such as a massage or facial, include the tip on there.

BONUS IDEA: Let us do the legwork for you. Here at The Gift Tailor, we help busy people who have limited free time or are struggling for ideas, to bring an effortless, personal touch to their gift-giving. We need a few details about who you are giving to and then we’ll research and source a gift. All that’s left for you to do is take the credit!
